We don't have one...yet. The last latest and greatest thing in the gaming department we purchased is the Nintendo 64 I bought for Brandon about 10 years ago. Obviously that was a time in life where he had more time! I have been happy that the kids like to do a variety of activities and haven't exactly invested our money in that area very much. But now, Tanner is getting older and has been to birthday parties and relatives houses this year where he has played the Wii and really enjoyed it. I like the family and physical aspect of the Wii system and all of the options it brings. I don't like the price and the price of the games. Is it worth it? Tanner has also mention that he likes the Didj system by Leapfrog. It looks pretty educational. Please feel free to share your opinion!

Personally, I never wanted to get any electronic games. And we didn't until we got to the "Big city". And still we almost didn't, but we found a 64 at the DI, which was way cheap. Then the kids were given an old DS, from a friend. So then they couldn't share that very well, so we ended up buying another DS. Now they are begging for a WII. They say that I will even love it, and it will give me the exercise that I always say I need, but don't ever do. So we will probably get a WII for Christmas.
Anyway, after all of that, I wish we were still in the small country town without any video games. Life was simple then. And they used their imagination more. Now, they get bored more often, ecpecially when I ban them from playing the games. But we are living in today's world and not yesterday's, so I guess the kids need electronics, to be normal?!.
I don't know if this very long comment helped any, but those are my thoughts on electronic games.
PS. Your new pictures are so cute!
I'd like a Wii!!!

I say go for the Wii! Our family has loved ours, but then again that is coming from the family who has PS2, Gamecube, Wii, Nintendo DS, and Gameboys. It would make a great Christmas gift!
I think that it will be fun! We are going to go for it this year too...
But, I know we are going to have to definitely set limitations, otherwise they will probably play it all day long.
I told Jeff we could get a Wii if we canceled the cable. :) I've played friends and families, they are so fun.
We love our Wii, fun for everyone not just the kids. I say go for it. Hopefully they will be easier to find this year!
I say, get your nearby grandma to put one in the basement for all the grandkids. That's working for us because it's not an integral, always accessible part of our lives, yet my M. can still learn the good things that come with gaming.
We loved my mom's Wii and would get one if we could afford it! They are fun for all ages - that's for sure! You will find that any game system, the games are ridiculously priced. My sister bought a leapster for her little girl (the handheld game like a game boy) and each game was still $30-$40 which I would never pay for one of those - just me though!
I'd go for it! We have one and I really dont like the idea of video games but like you said the physical aspect of the Wii makes it better. We set limitations on it and my kids would rather be outside anyway so we havent had any meltdowns yet from wanting to play it too much. Plus, you can score points with the kids and the hubby :)
I was thinking about it too Jen. But we decided it's a not now thing. We NEED so many other things. I'm sure someday we will get one. It would be a good thing to do as a family though, I agree
